New Book: Between Before and After

BETWEEN BEFORE AND AFTER, is loosely based on my family's Irish immigrant story and what happened after the death of my grandmother during the Spanish Flu pandemic.

It's a dual narrative, generational YA novel about a girl in 1955 San Jose who discovers there may be more to her family than meets the eye, and her Brooklyn born mother who was forced to make drastic decisions in the aftermath of the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. The novel explores the bonds of family, loss, and the question of miracles. A retelling of Hansel & Gretel is woven between the chapters a story of children who are lost and against all odds, find a way home.
