Between Before & After is a dual narrative novel about a girl in 1955 San Jose who discovers there may be more to her family than meets the eye, and her Brooklyn born mother who was forced to make drastic decisions in the aftermath of the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918.
It's a redemption story about hope and the bonds of family, about the way wonder shows up in unexpected places, but it’s also a story about abandonment and being lost in the darkest part of the woods. There's a retelling of Hansel & Gretel between the chapters!
