Finding Editors

Friday, September 19th, 2008

What’s an editor looking for? Who edited that book? If you, like me, have spent hours schlepping through acknowledgement pages in the back of books trying to find the editor, you’ll love this post.

Why do I care who edited a book? Submissions! If it’s a book that is simialr in style or content to something I’m working on, I want to add that editor to my possible query list. And having a name in the address is so much more effective than “dear submissions editor.”

There’s even a link to what editors are looking for at Dutton. Go read it!

Blog Tour

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Want to interview an author, but don’t have the $$$ to bring them to your school or to drive to a major city where she is speaking? Blog tours may be the answer. Several book review sites join together to interview authors and feature the interviews on their sites during the same time period. And the best thing for authors? We can do it all in our p.j.s.

So, I’m heading out on tour–blog tour—pajama style.

You can find me at  Words and Pictures From My Mind to Yours on Tuesday, September 23 and at

Flamingnet.com TBA (sometime in Sept.).
